Anyone have any special plans?
Personally I love this holiday. No obligations, just celebrate the countries birthday like it were your own.
I like to sit in my back yard (I live on the water) and watch the chuckle-heads across the cannal blow up fireworks on their dock and drink beer. Makes the jacka$$ show look like an episode of Father Knows Best. One year I will win $10,000 on AFV thanks to these guys.

That is hilarious. I will probably just work around the place, at a very leisurly pace I might add. On a side note. There is a guy that lives about 3 miles from me, as the crow flies, who is a proffessional fireworks technician. He has done several BIG events, including some new years shows, and 4th of July events. I think his most noteable one was that bridge reopening in Philidelphia several years ago,(sorry I can't remember the name of the bridge). Anyways, Several months before each show, he does a practice session to choreagraph the music to match the fireworks. I have seen several of these "practice" sessions and they are awesome.

cool, I LOVE fireworks. If the weather is nice I'll put around on the MEGABYTE looking for some professional displays on Saturday evening. Friday is for the chuckle-heads.

Parade during the day, a few cigars in between and then fireworks.

I'm stayin' in the house or goin' to a movie w/Mrs. Byrdman. I just can't see myself gettin' in the car driving to my local professional fireworks "extravaganza" only to have to stand next to Bubba in a wife beater T-shirt (can I say that) or with no shirt at all suckin' down a Bud and diggin' in his navel for navel lint from last year. Only to be followed by him going to his car and uttering the famous last words, "Hey y'all watch this!" Followed by rescue vehicles and the headline "Amateur Firework Stunt Goes Awry". In case you're wondering I do live in the DC metro area but it is still "Bubba Country" in Stafford, VA. ;-)
