When NUBs first landed in the 'Burgh, I made sure to grab a couple extra fistfuls to giveaway on the Blowin' Smoke Podcast (http://www.BlowinSmokePodcast.com) since so many people wanted their NUBs across the country, but were suffering through rolling release dates.

The contest was simple...send your Freak-O de Fuma a limerick. Just two stipulations: 1) said limerick must contain the word NUB and, 2) it must also contain either my name or "Blowin' Smoke."

You can hear many of the rhymes and the winning submission on Blowin' Smoke #62 linked up here. (http://www.burghherfers.com/podcasts/BlowinSmoke062.mp3)

Think you can do better?

Lay it on me here before August 1, 2008, and I'll have Sam pick his favorite. I'll send the winner a handful of NUBs from my personal stash.

I hope August 1, 2009 is a typo. That's a long time to wait to win some NUBs. LOL!

isnt that a haiku?

a limerick is more along the lines of:

there once was a man named Bub
whose **** was thrice the length of a Nub
he knew cause he measured
with paper bands he pleasured
'till a paper cut cost his left ball

There once was a Lieutenant named James
He went to a place with no dames
There were no Nubs to be had
He got some sticks from his dad
They were lost with the Humvee in flames

this one makes me want to cry a little inside

Why yes professor, I do believe you're right. How could I miss that? How could I possibly get something so elementary and obvious so completely wrong?? I mean, its not like it was a joke, where Rob asked for one poetic style and I gave him a completely different style for comedic effect. If that were the case, everyone would have seen it and chuckled quietly to themselves, maybe shake their head while muttering something about how I'm a moran (I mean, moron). But obviously, that's not what I did. I have no grasp whatsoever of poetry and accidentally posted a HAIKU when Rob asked for a LIMERICK. How could I miss that??? Hell, the styles aren't even spelled remotely the same! I have no excuse for such a gross oversight. I will now go and flaggelate myself with a wet strand of spaghetti.

I don't know what I would've done if you had come along to learn me with such a shining example of what a limerick truly should be. Oh, and you forgot to include the phrase "Blowin' Smoke" in yours. Looks like we both can't follow directions.

(If sarcasm was sugar, I'd have diabetes)

so thats how it is, eh?

I'll have to keep that in mind when I read 1/3 of a thread and just start posting

With my Nub I was blowing smoke
It was so thick my neighbors choked
On their car I did a Nubstand
He got his gun, shot as I ran
Out with another, lit it and toked

ty ty ty....screw neighbors!! lol

Repost of my feeble attempt:

Blowin’ smoke is a way of life,
To relax after a day of strife,
You break out a NuB,
Climb in a hot tub,
Pour a drink, then clip, then light.

Attempt #2

There was an old smoker named Chad,
Found a cigar, not real sure what he had,
He said Blowin’ Smoke,
This Nub is no joke,
It’s by far the best that I’ve had.

And #3 if you will:

For stress there is a known cure,
A Cammy or Connie for sure,
A Nub any size,
Will open your eyes,
Blowin’ Smoke with these will endure.

Saw Sam today at the event
Makin' smokes for the people, so urgent
A sweet thing walked by
Blowin' Smoke, lookin' fine
And the Nub he was rollin', turned out bent!

Hey, I don't see my limerick:confused: I clearly remember my travails creating one and I'm sure I posted it. Did somebody delete it?

OK sorry, turns out there were two threads. Found it here (http://nublive.com/forum/showthread.php?t=751&pp=10&page=2)

There are many who roll ‘gars for all,
I’ll tell you what is their actual goal:
Blowin’ smoke up your a$$,
Havin’ you burn their grass.
Only NUbs give the joy to your soul ;)

Congratulations to Big Bore!! :D

Sorry for the delay, folks. I decided I could not wait, nor should you wait, any longer for a ruling. Since Sam is traveling, I assume his time online is limited and likely backed up with many business-related issues to wallow through with priority, so I deferred to the lovely and talented Robyn the GirlWonder to read and select her favorite submission which met all the criteria.

Some NUBs from El Freako's Fridge-idor and other snacks will be on the way to Big Bore as soon as I secure his shipping address.

Thanks to all who participated and thanks for listening to Blowin' Smoke!
