Man I wish I could go fishing for some big fish like that. I bet that was really fun trying to bring that fish in! How long did it take to haul it in?

Yes, that is a striped bass. The guy along side of me helping to hold it up is Fishhound, a fellow member here. It took me around 10 minutes to land the fish. We were on my boat, a 31 foot Rampage, The MEGABYTE around 1 mile off of Jone's Beach on Long Island NY.
I ate most of my share over the last 2 nights. DELICIOUS!

Impressive! Most impressive!

I was at a big cigar herf on Long Island yeeeaaars ago. It coincided with a block party, so most of the house furniture was on the front yard under a big tent. One of the best cigar/food/scotch/no-sleep experiences of my life.

Those pics are making me hungry for seafood now.

Later,
T

If I could catch fish like that I'd take up fishing again. Excellent and congratulations.

Skipper that is a cow... What did u catch it on?

took it on a live bunker which I had captured a short while earlier. Drifted the bunker out with a 3 oz sinker to keep him on the bottom in the zone.

Wow Skipper it looks like you pretty much have fishing for Stripers down pat.

thanks. I love striper fishing. It's not only a challange but the possibility of catching an 80 pound fish 2 miles from shore always exists. And tastes great too!

Good lord...sharks even. And it's a good thing you got a pic of the thug that was stealing one of your fish, have you caught him yet?
