I gots a question. If i ordered nubs from florida, since my stinky town cigar shop doesn't carry them, and it being summer. Do you think my nubs will be spit and dry? if so how would one go to smoking them? I also have a humi question. My dad had some Cu cigars in his humi and his hydrometer went south. Said it was 80 % and i dropped in a Dig Hydrometer and it read 50%. Will those dry cigs cause the humi to stay at a low humidity level? Or will they eventually get back to normal and let the humidor get back to 70%. I don't want to drop my Nubs in below 70% humi. Or will they be ok?

Almost any cigar can be fixed as long as the wrapper isn't yet damaged and the cigar was not abused for too long.
Any cigar you get today travels by ship form a Caribbean island. Then by UPS in the back of a truck. In August in Florida or in January in New York. They get lots of abuse and come back. The key is to correct it slowly and to ensure the ills have not gone on for too long.
You didn't say how long your dad's humidor had the 50% humidity. Was it like a week or a year? Do the wrappers look ok?
Maintain the humidity at 63 to 65% and leave the cigars alone for at least a month. As for your new ones, a week in a stable properly maintained humidor should be enough.
but, be advised, I am very laid back when it comes to this stuff. I dont let things upset me. Others may have a more diligent attitude.

50 % sin't bad its not that far off of what M-R-N tells people to store at for long term aging, and whats wrong with a below 70 % humidor? 70 % is merely a general guide, I keep my cooler at 63-64% and my desktop 66% I like a drier cigar, too moist and they become too earthy for my liking, your cigars can be easily saved, But I don't think they were that bad off. Also salt test your hygro

Lets see i think they were at that % for a little less than 8 weeks. The wrappers are still intact and they show no signs of cracks. I left them in the same humi and set out to get the Humidity back to normal. It hovered at 55% for a week and then stayed at 60% for another 2 weeks. As of today they are at 64%. So from what i understand from you guys is they are safe now or out of the danger zone. They didn't get flashed with a big dose of humidity.
I bought some Nubs from Bonitasmokeshop. I will prolly wait to smoke them cause i want to show them off to my friends. That is the reason for asking on maintinaing the humidty. So anywhere from 65 to 70 is cool. I usually keep my humidors in my closet. Nice and cool and always dark.
Since i switched to a digi Hydro it seems to be on the spot. I have three and i switch them around from my 3 humidors. They always each get the same reading from the same humi.
