Hi Guys,
I am really looking forward to the upcoming Nub event but, I am afraid that my trusty Xicar cutter is not up to the task. What is everbody else using or recomending?
Thanks for any advice.

set your xikar flat, button side up. place nub cap down inside and clip, you aren't supposed to take that much off when you clip a cigar
Just cut a 358 with a Palio, no issue what so ever.

Use my Xikar, takes just the right amount off of it on the 460's only. Flint

I like to use Xikar's #357 Punch (made by Wolfertz GmbH, aka; 'Solingen steel') and my Palio Cutter on the Torps. The punch is a 13mm punch made by the same folks who make Xikar's Xi Cutter 'blades' - awesome for the 60 & 64 rings!

No kidding! I'll have to check out the Palios at the shop. Was thinking about getting one anyways to have both approaches (Xikar and Palio).

I've been using my Xikar for the torpedoes. I'm not sure how big of a ring guage it can cut.

My post#13 above was a cut with a Xikar on a 466 Habano. It cut it just about right.

That's the cutter I use, but mine is a black ZinoPlatinum version...
I love that cutter, and have no problems either!

I have that one too. I have the stainless, the zino and the standard red.
Although I own a ton of other cutters, this is the only one I use.

I also have the wenger cutter, picked up a version that actually has two less tools in 2001 while in Austria
paid the equivalent of about $30 for it and couldnt be happier
my Xikar scissors also work just fine

I use a regular straight edge cutter on the 4x60 and it worked great. Now when I try the 4x66 that might be another story.:D Oh I think a punch would work best of all.

My Xikar blade cutter does OK but I really prefer the Xikar punch. The one I use is the DCed double magnetic punch and the small end does the job just fine. The large end of the punch is OK too but the draw is too easy with it. The Xikar cutter sometimes cuts fine and other times it does not, and it is relatively new. It seems to cut smoothly on one with no tearing and on the next one it tears and leaves a lot of loose tobacco to come off. The punch just seems to work best for me on these babies.

I'm going to have to test my Xikar Sissors but I think they can handle the 66 gauge.
