When I smoke a new cigar, I like to be able to compare it to other cigars in a similar size. I was in my local B&M and saw the Hoyo de Monterrey Petit Robusto. At 102mm, they are about 4", so they are Nub length, but are 50 ring. I haven't smoked these before, so to even things up I won't until I have some Nubs to compare.

Which Nub(s) do you think I should get to smoke against the HdM?

Are there any cigars that are similar in size to Nub? (I guess I could hack 2" off the 6"x60 Dona Flor that I picked up at the same time as the HdM, but I won't. :) )

Thanks for any input!

About the closest thing I've seen is the Casa Blanca Half Jeroboam, which is 5 X 66. JR's sells them. Holt's has them at the PHL store, but I don't know if they sell them on line.

Not sure if there are any--you may find 1 or 2 but I'm waiting to see what the NUB is all about first--Nice post!

There are a few cigars that are similar in size. The "stumpy" from www.thecigarFO.com is the same size, and IMHO, a blatant copy (albeit a horrible one) of the Nub. All they did with the stumpy was stuff a bunch of short filler and long filler mix into a fat cigar. The couple I've had were not good at all. Other than those, I don't know of anyone doing something like this. I think Sam's got this one in the bag, but if any of you have read my other posts, you know how I feel about Nubs already :)

This cigar is horrid, by the way.
IMO, of course.
