None of the B&M's I have visited (4) in the past 2 weeks have heard of NUB! Someone needs to visit the Southeast and share the word (and maybe some NUBS)

John, I feel your pain. None of the B&M's in the UK know of NUb cigars. So im trying my hardest to spread the word lol

The only reason that a couple B&Ms around me know is because I kept asking when and if they were going to get them... funny!

My B&M is very familiar with them now. He will be carrying them too, so that is a plus for me. Tinderbox is hosting 2 of the launch events here in Charlotte, so they are aware. I am happy to help evangelize the power of the NUb.

Anyone in the Southwest corner of PA can stop by The Leaning House Fine Cigar store when the NUBS are released as we will be carrying the full line (all 12 varieties) of NUB cigars. When in the area stop by for some story telling and fine smokes.

It amazes me to no end how the B&Ms around me don't keep up with things. Cigars are their business and they don't seem to care. I even tell them about cigars and they just say, "Oh."

I am SURE you've never thought of this before, but maybe you should open a cigar store and kick their a--!

I can understand you thinking they are out of the loop. After watching this NUB thing develop since Sam made the official announcement, it appears the marketing has been almost totally viral (except for very recent magazine ads in some of the big publications). In fact, I had to make two calls to Oliva for information, and both times the people just didn't have the answers for me. I am a fairly large Oliva retailer, and have been for quite some time, and I still had to "sell" my rep on getting a NUB account. There are a limited number of launch events, and the cigars will only be available through those retailers initially. The Oliva reps are being very careful about who they recommend as NUB accounts, especially for the kick off. So, chances are, if your B&M's are not "tuned in" to whats going on online (and most retailers are not), they will not have heard about it because their Oliva rep hasn't told them. I think these accounts will go to retailers who are on the ball, and are ready, willing, eager and able to make a commitment to make NUB a priority on their shelves. Most retailers are just content to sit and smoke a few with the regulars, shoot the breeze, lock up and head home for the day. JMHO

Anyway, that's my take.

Hey if your fav B&M doesn't carry them right away you will be able to get them at www.seriouscigars.com which is a local B&M here and Houston. Its a great shop and a great owner!

Cigar store huh? I will have to think about that one.:D

I totally agree Mike. It isn't just NUb. I know they can't afford to just on every cigar that comes out but they don't even seem to know about them.

Are they open to the idea or no?

The one that is furthest alway from be is pretty open about it and has a nice selection. The ones closer just seem to do their thing and never really change much.

Once it gets a high rating and starts flying off shelves they will want to get it!

That is what tends to happen around here.

Saw the Nub advertised in CI's latest catalog, where can I purchase them in Northeast Ohio or Long Island, NY?

Nah these things are solid. Worst case scenario, after smoking 1 or 2 you don't like them and you have NO PROBLEM unloading the rest of the box either to somebody here or locally. Especially if they're hard to find up there.
