Looks like cigarFO has been keeping up with the cigar hype and talk of the Nub. Now they are trying to come out with something similar...

Rediculous if you ask me. Its making me re-think giving them another chance. I lost a lot of faith in them with this last order, and now seeing this, is making me not wanna order from them again. I think I'll spend my money somewhere else.

Thats what I was thinking Skip. Its enough to get me to not place the next order I was planning on with them. I'll shop elsewhere. Thats just a blatant rip off of the Nub concept.

If Nub goes good you can expect alot of copycats.Like Sam said in his interview it's a form of flattery

That's true, but its also comical that they undercut his release... oh well, long live the king of NUBs!

Thats my biggest gripe.. And having had a Nub Habano, I'd be willing to bet my life that these imposters are garbage in comparison. I know Sam says its flattery, but I call it BS.

I am really surprised that they would go this route. It seems like they have wrapped up a certain segment of the cigar trade (low end/decent quality) and that would be enough. CFO seems to do a tremendous amount of business within these forums, and from the posts I've read, it seems like most members like these guys and what they do... or am I wrong? Why would they risk all they have built with some dumb-ass stunt like this? Especially when they know how members on these boards feel about Sam?

Yeah, I don't understand it either. That being said, if you've been following along, with the cigarFO stuff, they basically ignored me until I raised a big stink about trying to get a tracking number for an order. I made the long distance call to them 2 times in the same day, with no return call, and got the answering machine every time. I emailed numerous times with no response. Finally I had to PM Paul, who either works there, or owns the place, on another board, and he managed to get me the number. After that ordeal, I was on the fence about whether or not to try placing another order. Then I saw this, which was not up on the site yesterday morning, and that just about sealed it for me.

Looking at their site, it seems that this is how they make their money.

Stumpy, to compete with Nub
What the heck is a STUMPY??? Its our own, in house solution to how to get a quick smoke with "Big Cigar" OOOMPH!!

They must not have caught my review for smoke time...lol

Another knock off, Graffiti "A Tat lovers dream"

You can add me to the list of people who will not even consider them for an order.

CFO needs to get their DELIVERY problems sorted out before they expand the market share. Pretty damned good smokes for fifty cents a shot though. Good thing too...as the wait for delivery IS a bit much. They ARE in central Jersey. I'm sure UPS /Fed-Ex will pick up. No excuse on an order taking two or three weeks to get across the Country.

In all fairness though....offering a shorter smoke isn't exactly rocket science. I'd bet we will see other makers offering the same in the near future.

Looking forward to a NUB.

Yup, I have to say, the smokes I have gotten from them, are GREAT for the price, but their customer service absolutely SUCKS. BLOWS, SUCKS and BLOWS. And I am not afraid to make it known. There seems to be some people that got a whole lot better customer service than I did, but thats a moot point to me. I get crappy customer service, I'll go elsewhere. I don't care how cheap your prices are, if you can't provide customer service, you'll lose my business.

The few I have had were very rough around the edges and almost acidic to start. After you fight your way through the first half inch, it begins to mellow into some nice dark coco notes, but all in all one dimensional.

There are countless other sticks in that price range I would smoke first...

My local shop charges $16/stick for that one... I know, its CA, but still... I can get 3 sticks that I think are better for that $16

they didn't beat anyone to market with anything. Only Sam has that "heart of the leaf" thing going. It's not just a short fat cigar for "when you don't have time for a full smoke".

That place rubs me the wrong way to begin with. Their name seems like an infringement on another place that bears little resemblance. CFO in CT which is a great shop! (I think Brian S. who is registered here knows something about CFO ;))

Like I said Skip, I'm not happy with them. I did get a PM from Paul (the owner, I think) of cigarFO with my tracking number, after I pitched a fit on another board. He replied telling me basically to not get my panties in a bunch, that he'd pm me a tracking number. I got no apology for no return phone calls, and no explanation as to why I was treated like crap, yet others were given priority. I've spent my money there for the last time, no matter how many people say they are "good people"

I figured this would start happening after the release of the Nub line, I just didn't think it would happen so soon. As they say, copying is the sincerest form of flattery.

And the name! Stumpy?!?! That is just awful!
