NUbLive.com will now have a Referral Contest to bring even more members to the website. We will start this contest and host it for one week. Contest Ends MIDNIGHT Thursday Feb 21, 2008. Each member that has refered at least 5 new members total by the end of the contest time will be eligible for a drawing at the end. If you already have a few then you have a good start already.
The winner(s) will receive a NUb T-shirt and a custom NUb hat with their NUbLive handle on the back. I may even throw in a nub.
Simply use your Referral Link located at the top of the forum to send to your friends. Anyone signing up using that link will automatically be counted as a referral by you with your user ID. You can also track the number of referals you have in this time period using the Refferal List. As an added bonus, every time you refer a new member you will be added to the end of the year contest for most active member referrals.

1. Sam, are you eligible to participate?
Answer: No I am not participating in this contest.
2. Do referrals from the time the site began count towards the contest?
Answer: Yes, all referrals acquired from the time that the site began are eligible for the Contest
3. How can I tell how many referrals I currently have?
Answer: You can visit our Referrals Page (http://www.nublive.com/forum/referrers.php) and it will show you exactly where you sit in the contest as far as how many you need in order to get qualified for the random drawing.
4. Can I invite my family members and friends?
Answer: Yes and No. If your friends and/or family members are actual Cigar smokers then YES you can refer them. If they have no interest in Cigars or never smoke cigars whatsoever then NO please do not use them as a referral since they will only be signing on to help you win and you will be taking advantage of the system... Not very considerate to others participating legitimately in the contest.
5. What are you doing to prevent cheating?
Answer: Now, I can't say exactly but I will say that I will be verifying the new referral accounts throughout the entire contest. If a member is caught cheating by using trying to pad his/her own totals by creating bogus accounts then they will be disqualified from the entire contest. No Exceptions.
6. Can I spam other websites, forums and mailing lists?
Answer: No, we do not want this contest to generate any SPAM on any other site. Please do not make blanket posts on other forums, sites, blogs etc that read "sign up and help me win" in order to pad you referral total. We want referrals that will help contribute to our growth and participation not just to help someone win our contest.
7. What is "Padding Referrals"?
Answer: Padding Referrals is NOT ALLOWED. It is when a member tries to get a ton of referrals added to their total that are not legitimate referrals. Ways people pad thier referral count can be like a member creates several accounts here on the forum with different alias email accounts that they themselves own. Another is if a member emails anyone and everyone in their Contacts list to get them to sign up to increase their totals even if those are not interested in cigars. If you are caught doing any of the above and I catch it, you will be disqualified immediately. No Exceptions.
8. Why are your rules so tough?
Answer: My rules are only tough on those are cheating or are considering cheating. I will do my best to keep the competition 100% fair and level for EVERYONE. I want the prize to go to a member that played by the rules and did everything fair and square. Is that asking too much? I don't think so.
9. Why 5 referrals to be entered?
Answer: We feel that 5 referrals is not that difficult in the amount of time we have given of 6 weeks. We know the cigar community is a very focused niche group of smokers so we set the minimum required to be eligble in the contest at a number we thought was reasonable.
