Hello all.
I'm Michael, I'm from Oakville Ontario (about 30 mins west of Toronto).
I came to know of Nub from looking up cigars on Cigar.com. Did some simple research and found that Nub was not available (yet?) in Canada. So, I contacted a good friend of mine in Michigan, had a box (466 Cameroon pressed torpedo) shipped to him and this weekend, he drove up to me and passed them on. So, if I may, here is the breakdown of my first Nub.
First impression - No way this thing burns like a Presidente
First feel - Heavier than I thought, no major veins, looks classy.
First smell - wow.
First light - used a bic, took a few turns to get everything even. Easy light though.
First pull - mild, simple pull, no need to chug or bear down on it.
First Taste - Sweet wet cedar, spicy, really strong for a first light. Instant mouth water.
Halfway through - Flavour REALLY kicking in. Like, sipping sweet dark espresso with strong hardwoo notes. No major change in the draw, the tip was getting a bit firm but, no blockages or hanging wrapper. Really shocked at the density of the ash. Did a nubstand, had no camera.
48 mins later, Nub too small to hang onto without burning my fingertips. I couldn't believe how long it burned for. Totally destroyed my first impression.
Incredible smoke, I'm hooked.
Cheers.
