View Full Version : Virgin NUb
Suz here and I am still a NUb virgin. How did this happen? I blame Cigar Aficionado!
You see, I wasn't quite awake this morning when I started to page through the October 2008 edition. I came upon the Macanudo 1968 ad and, naturally, who can pass up a deal. I logged on, signed up, yada yada, one link follows the next . . .
. . . eventually, I ended up at cigar.com and spotted ye olde Top 10 Cigars list. So what do you suppose is Numero Uno? Yeah. NUb.
Followed the linkies. Loved the concept. Bought a sampler. Awaiting delivery.
I'm a Fuente fan from waaay back, so this should be interesting.
Nice to meet y'all.
Suz :)

Well, it's quite nice to meet you Suz, and I hope you enjoy your Nubs, as I'm sure you will. Not only are the cigars amazing, but Sam Leccia the creator is a real stand up guy, and the Nub community here on the forum makes you feel at home. Everyone is quite friendly, fun, and talented, I think you'll enjoy it here. Enjoy the Nubs when they come in and I'll see you around the forum.

Hi Suz, I guarantee you will like the great NUb cigars. If you remember, the Fuente Hemingway and others have a Cameroon wrapper on them. I can say that in the past besides Fuente I had a hard time finding Cameroons that I liked. Until the NUb. It has a very tasty and unique note on it that keeps you wanting to take the next puff to see how it will evolve. The Connecticut and Habano are also excellent. Welcome, and enjoy!

Welcome from PA. The cameroon Nub is my favorite. Don't forget to check out cigarlive.com for an excellent general cigar forum.

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the home of the NUB.
OMG, I just checked the USPS tracker. My sampler should be here TODAY!
This is terrible! I haven't aged them. They're mere feti! (I kid.) But I must burn one.
Bones. I. MUST. But which?
For Godssake, post feedback. Which should I try first? My mail arrives in three hours. Which child do I sacrifice first?

Hmmm, its tough cause they are all so good! If you are more prone to smokinf fuller cigars, puff the habano. If you are in a mellow mood, give the connecticut a whirl! No matter what you choose, you will be pleased!

I have to agree with Brian, you won't be let down no matter which Nub you light up.
This is the one day in months the mail is late.
"Bones, these are infants. I. Need. Adviccce."
"I'm a doctor not a tobacconist! Pull yourself together, (wo)man."
[The doctor looks away.]
"Where's that pointy-eared, green-blooded Vulcan when you really need him? Smoking weed with Mr. Scott on the auxiliary bridge."

So, did the mail come in yet? I wanna know which Nub you're smoking.
Okay, okay. The mail came and all my cigars came and so did the carpenter who is finishing off my basement and we had to go to Menards, so I didn't have time to smoke any of my cigars until . . .
. . . this morning.
The first one I burned was a Connecticut.
W O W !
We're on to something here. This has to be the most amazing little stick I've smoked in a looong time. I'm hooked. I'm going to be poor because I'm going to be packing my humidor with these babies.
I took a photo of my NUbStand in my Japanese lantern. I'll upload it when I figure out how to do so.
Many thanks to everyone for the encouragement and the warm welcome and especially to the people who produce this fat, little stick of dynamite tobacco.
Suz :)
(Boy, is my cardiologist going to be pissed!) :D

Hey Suz, be sure to try the Cameroon and Habano before you load up on Connies, they're both equally as good. In fact, I would say the Habano is my favorite of the line, then the Connie, then the Cammy, but they're all fantastic cigars.
